One of the things we love seeing on Flavorist is how people save food. A recipe you want to cook this weekend, a dessert that caught your eye, or a dish from a restaurant you want to try later. Over time, these saved posts turn into a personal collection of food inspiration.
As the Flavorist community continues to grow, we’ve been working on making it easier for everyone to organize and find the food they save. Today we’re introducing improvements to Collections and Cookbooks, along with a new feature that helps you find saved posts faster.
Understanding Collections on Flavorist
Collections are designed to help you save and organize posts and recipes you discover on Flavorist. Instead of losing a great dish in your feed, you can save it and come back to it anytime.
To make this clearer for new users, we’ve added a helpful introduction screen inside the app that explains how collections work.
There are two types of collections on Flavorist.
General Collections
General Collections are automatically created when you save posts you like.
They act as a simple place to store inspiration without needing to organize everything right away. When you see a recipe or food post you enjoy, you can save it instantly and it will appear in your general collection.
This makes it easy to collect ideas as you explore the app.
Cookbooks
Cookbooks allow you to create your own custom collections.
Think of them as folders where you can organize recipes and food posts in a way that makes sense for you. For example, you might create cookbooks for weeknight dinners, desserts, healthy meals, or recipes you want to try during the holidays.
With cookbooks, your saved posts become a structured food library you can easily return to whenever you need inspiration.
New: Search Within Collections
As collections grow, scrolling through saved posts can take time. To make this easier, we’ve added the ability to search within collections.
Now you can quickly find posts inside your saved collections by searching for keywords like pasta, chicken, cake, or salad. Instead of browsing through everything, you can go straight to the recipe or dish you’re looking for.
This feature makes collections and cookbooks much more useful as your saved posts grow.
Continuing to Improve Flavorist
Flavorist is built for people who love discovering, sharing, and organizing food. Every update we release is focused on making that experience better for our community.
These improvements to collections are part of our effort to help users turn the food they save into a personal and organized cooking resource.
We’re excited to see how you use collections and cookbooks to build your own food library on Flavorist.
Thank you for being part of the Flavorist community.
